Akash Patel MD CEPS FHRS is a Pediatric and Congenital Electrophysiologist and Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of California – San Francisco. Dr. Patel received his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine. He completed his pediatric residency, cardiology fellowship, NIH-funded T32 research fellowship, and pediatric and congenital electrophysiology fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He remained on faculty at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine/Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia before joining the University of California – San Francisco Benioff Children’s Hospital in 2013. He is board certified in adult congenital heart disease and pediatric cardiology. He has a strong interest in medical education and training at the medical school, residency and fellowship levels. He is the current Program Director of the Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship at University of California – San Francisco.
