Dr. Varun Aggarwal is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Congenital Interventional Cardiologist at University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital. Following his graduation at the prestigious University College of Medical Sciences, Delhi University, Delhi, India; Dr. Aggarwal completed his Pediatrics Residency in at Kalawati Saran Children’s Hospital, Delhi University, Delhi, India. He worked in Pediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care Units for two years before moving to the United States. He joined the residency program at Nicklaus (Miami) Children’s Hospital, Miami, FL. Subsequently Dr. Aggarwal moved to Texas where he completed a fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology at the Texas Children’s Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine, Houston. He stayed on at Texas Children’s hospital to complete an advanced training in interventional cardiology for children and adults with congenital heart disease.

Dr. Aggarwal constantly strives to find minimally invasive solutions for patients with congenital heart diseases. Dr. Aggarwal has very active research history with more than 70 peer reviewed publications and has earned various awards at national and international level for his research.

Dr. Aggarwal also serves as the Vice President for the Pediatric Interventional Cardiology Early career Society (PICES), is the founding fellow of the Pediatric and congenital Interventional Cardiovascular Society (PICS). He serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (JSCAI), Indian Pediatrics-Case reports, Frontiers in Nutrition,  American Academy of Pediatrics PREP cardiology,
