Wendy Whiteside, MD is Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Associate Director of Pediatric Interventional Cardiology at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital at the University of Michigan Congenital Heart Center. Dr. Whiteside received her undergraduate degree in biology from Washington University in St. Louis in 2002. She went on to receive her MD from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York in 2006 and completed her general pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital and Research Center Oakland in Oakland, CA in 2009. Prior to beginning cardiology fellowship, she worked as a Clinical Instructor in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit at Lucille Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford University. She then went on to complete her general pediatric cardiology fellowship and advanced fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at the University of Michigan Congenital Heart Center in Ann Arbor, MI in 2014. After spending 3 years as Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Interventional Cardiologist at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Dr. Whiteside returned to the University of Michigan Congenital Heart Center as faculty in 2017. Dr. Whiteside’s clinical and research interests include quality improvement in the catheterization lab and the congenital heart center as a whole, and complex transcatheter procedures including pulmonary valve replacement in children and adults, interventions on small neonates including PDA occlusion and right ventricular outflow tract stenting, and hybrid and fetal interventions.
