MISSION
To foster academic and clinical advancement of early career congenital interventional cardiologists around the globe through collaborative education, research, and networking.
GOALS
- Establish new membership – recruitment and retention
- Create forum for open discussion of clinical questions and cases
- Encourage, foster, and address collaboration for multicenter research projects
- Assist in identifying educational and professional needs of early career congenital interventionists
- Develop symposia/educational activities at current meetings highlighting early career personnel
- Contribute as representatives to national/international organizations
- Develop new programs and projects related to early career needs
- Networking events and fostering relationships

Greater than 250 members to listserv, approximately 65% US and 35% international and growing!

R. Allen Ligon
MD - Chair
Allen is a pediatric and adult congenital interventionalist at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Emory Healthcare, Emory University School of Medicine. Outside of the cath lab, his interests include his wife and two kids, whitewater kayaking, and Georgia football.

Stephen Nageotte
MD - Research Chair
Stephen is the Director of the Pediatric Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital. He grew up in Long Beach, CA and currently lives in Claremont, CA with his wife and two daughters.

Oliver Barry
MD - Secretary
Oliver is a congenital interventional cardiologist at Columbia University Irving Medical Center in New York City. He works primarily at Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital of New York. He serves as the Secretary for the PICES Executive Committee.

Neil Patel
MD - Clinical Afairs Chair
Neil is a congenital interventionalist at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. His interests include transcatheter interventions in the Fontan population, pulmonary vein stenosis, and lymphatic imaging and intervention.

Daniel McLennan
BMedSci, MBBS, DCH – International Membership Chair
Daniel is a pediatric and adult congenital interventional cardiologist. He currently is based in Liverpool in the UK working at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital. Originating from Sydney Australia he has trained and worked in 4 continents and participated in many cardiology missions. He has an interest in education and support for trainees and interventional cardiologists in the developing world.
