Dr Jacques received his doctor of medicine degree from Université Laval (Quebec City, Canada) in 2004. He completed a Masters degree in Biomedical Sciences (neurocardiology; atrial fibrillation) from this institution in 2008. He did his cardiac surgery residency at Université de Montréal (2004-2010). He did a first fellowship in pediatric and adult congenital cardiac surgery at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) and Toronto General Hospital (University of Toronto) (2010-2012). He completed another clinical fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital (Harvard University) in 2013. He was appointed staff cardiovascular surgeon at Institut universitaire de cardiologie et de pneumologie de Québec (Hôpital Laval), as well as at Centre hospitalier universitaire de Québec (Centre mère-enfant Soleil) in 2013. He is also responsible of cardiovascular anatomy teaching at Université Laval since then. He acted as chair of the cardiac surgery review program of the Canadian Cardiovascular Society Academy (2012-2016).
He is program director of the cardiac surgery residency program of Université Laval since 2017. He is Associate Editor of BMC Cardiovascular Disorders since 2019. He joined the team of the Congenital Heart International Professionals Network in 2020.
